About Charlie

Charlie is a talented racing driver from the village of Rivington in Lancashire whose passion for motorsport began when he first stepped into a kart at the age of five at an indoor circuit. After showing real potential and interest he moved to testing with a local team, Sam Pollitt Racing at the age of six where he moved into an IAME cadet kart testing at the larger outdoor circuits for two years until the age of eight when he was eligible to compete.

Charlie competed in the IAME cadet class for four years, starting at a club level and finishing 2nd in the MBKC championship. He moved to compete at a national level competing in the NKF, LGM, PFI & UKC championships where he was to score multiple podiums and wins.

Karting

At only age 12 Charlie stepped up to the Rotax 125cc junior class in 2021 and entered the British Championship as a rookie making him the youngest driver on the grid amongst the countries best, featuring as many as 70 competitors at each event. Charlie scored three podiums in his first year and set two lap records finishing the season ranked 10th in the country.

In 2022 Charlie again entered the British Championship and the Ultimate Karting Championship again scoring multiple podiums, class wins, fastest laps and managed three clean sweeps scoring pole & winning all heats and the finals at three different tracks. He ended the season ranked 5th in the British championship and 3rd in the Ultimate Karting Championship.

Karts to Cars

Charlie's success in 2022 gained him a ticket for the Rotax World Finals in Portugal held in Portimao where he would have the honour to represent Team UK to compete against over 350 drivers from 29 different countries. Charlie scored a 1st, 2nd & 3rd in his heats starting the World Final in 3rd position and finishing 5th position. He also brought home a gold medal as Team UK returned as the Nations Champions.

In late October of 2022, Charlie entered the Ginetta Junior Scholarship. He went on to finish in the final four out of 60 other competitors over the two days of intense competition. Charlie then started testing with four-time Ginetta Junior champions, Elite Motorsport, enhancing his skills ready to compete in the championship in 2023.
