A challenging Weekend at Anglesey
The Ginetta Junior Championship headed to the Welsh coast for Round 4 of the season - a challenging weekend which brought home a strong haul of points as the championship battle intensifies.
It was a challenging weekend for Charlie at Anglesey for the annual ‘G Fest’ event, which see’s a wide range of cars built by Ginetta come together for a weekend of sporting action - ranging from the Junior categories, through to the GT Pro, alongside guest appearances from their famed LMP3 car and more.
Over the weekend we were treated to two qualifying sessions, and four races which gave Charlie a strong opportunity to showcase his abilities, across a race weekend which saw the indecisive British weather deliver us a mix of both wet and dry running.
Race One
The first race of the weekend got off to a strong start, with Charlie bringing home 3rd place, taking yet another step onto the podium this season.
Race Two
In Race Two, Charlie lined up 4th on the grid but after an intense battle in the opening laps he dropped back to P6, where he was unable to move forward despite a valiant effort in the closing stages of the race.
Race Three: 5th
The penultimate race of the weekend saw Charlie start out in 7th, quickly making up a number of places in the opening laps of the sprint, before eventually crossing the line in 5th, adding a healthy number of points to the weekends tally.
Race Four: 6th
In the final race of the weekend, Charlie secured a 6th place finish. Overall it was a challenging weekend - despite Charlie’s promising pace and consistency in qualifying and the races, we weren’t quite able to extract the maximum points available from the weekend. Up next we have Snetterton, a favourable circuit for the team, so hopefully we can come back stronger and secure a decent result to help keep the fight for the championship very much alive.
