Charlie Secures A Podium Finish In Aragon
Charlie and teammate Callum took on the challenge of Round 4 of the GT4 Winter Series at the Motorland Circuit in Aragon, facing a demanding weekend on a track renowned for its technical complexity.
Despite this being their first time at the Spanish circuit, the duo showed strong pace and resilience, overcoming setbacks to secure a well-deserved podium finish.
Qualifying saw Charlie put in an impressive lap to take 3rd on the grid, with Callum just behind in 4th, setting up a competitive starting position for the weekend’s races.
In the first sprint race, Callum lined up 4th but struggled with overheating tyres, which hampered his ability to maintain pace. He ultimately finished 5th after a challenging stint.
Charlie’s sprint race also proved to be an uphill battle. While running strongly, an unfortunate turn of events saw oil splatter onto his windscreen, significantly impairing his visibility. Despite his best efforts to hold position, he dropped down the order and crossed the line in 6th.
The weekend’s final race, however, provided the highlight of the event. Determined to fight back, Charlie and Callum battled their way up the field, holding onto 2nd place for a large portion of the race. The pair found themselves locked in a 20-minute head-to-head duel with a charging Mercedes, defending their position with skill and determination. In the penultimate lap, a bold move from the Mercedes saw them lose 2nd place, but they remained composed to bring the car home in 3rd, securing a well-earned podium finish.
With this result, Charlie and the team now set their sights on the season finale in Barcelona, where they aim to finish their GT4 Winter Series campaign on a high. With their pace and determination, another strong performance is firmly in their sights.
